Instagram has transformed from a casual social platform to a full scale sales channel for business and it’s time that your business takes advantage of what Instagram has to offer.

1) Shoppable Tags:

Instagram’s most recent feature allows business accounts to tag their products making it easier for followers to directly shop without ever leaving the app. In their latest blog post, Instagram said “Now, people can go from inspiration to information and purchase in just a few taps, and do so in a way that’s organic to the Instagram experience.” This makes it so much easier for customers to see the product and make a decision to purchase.

“Our traffic from Instagram has increased 44% since implementing shopping on Instagram. It’s a clean and simple way to show your product in a lifestyle setting, without impacting the user experience.”
– Savannah Boysen, Marketing Manager at TYME
2) Using Stories
Ever since Instagram released stories, they have been providing an easier, more effective means of driving traffic back to your website or account. Since April 2017, Instagram stories users have surpassed Snapchat users.
It’s a tool that your business should definitely be taking advantage of!
a) Swipe Up Link
If you business account is verified or has over 10k followers, you can add a link to your Instagram story. Adding links to Instagram Stories is even better than a hyperlink in the caption, because it allows you to use visuals — photos, video, and design — to really drive interest in your link. For example, if your website is running a sale, you can use a story directly linking to the sale items, making it easier for customers to buy.
b) Story Highlights
Before the update, users would have to either find your story in the Instagram Stories and they’d disappear after 24 hours. But now with Highlights,  you can group Stories that you’ve shared into highlights and feature them permanently on your profile (or until you decide to delete them). They appear directly under your bio and above your Instagram feed and will play as a stand-alone story when someone taps on it, so this feature is literally front and centre on your profile. You can feature links, special promotions, or even specific products for longer periods of time directly on your account.
 3) Instagram Ads:
Any business accounts can now have targeted ads through stories or on the feed. Companies on average can see double digital point increase in ad recall through Instagram ads. Ads in stories also let your business use targeting and reach capabilities that make your ads personally relevant to the people you want to reach. These ads are full screen and interactive, and if you use these correctly, the ads can have a high impact on your business.
